Buffy's Revenge (Doggie Tales Series)
Published in Hardcover by Ozark Publishing (December, 2001)
Authors: David M. Sargent, Jean Lirley Huff, Dave Sargent, and Jeane Huff
Average review score:

Excellent childrens book
The author came to our school and had the whole school in his hands! This man read to us and made everyone laugh and we all enjoyed his reading and writing style. There were two groups: k-2, 3-5 He handled each in slightly different ways - treating the younger ones with more time and explainations, the older ones he dealt with by talking about some more serious topics. The book was very good for all k-5 groups; we all truly enjoyed this book and his visit.

This was one of the best books that ihave ever read!
The book deserves 5 stars definatly because it captures the thought of a young indian girl that has to raise 10-20 kids and does not have her husband to help. People, i have read this book 13 times. It is a very good book and its theme is"surviveing the hardships and living a full life. Callie is a cool strong woman who accomplished so many things in her life and that is why i like this book!

Confined Space Rescue
Published in Hardcover by Fire Engineering Bk Dept (June, 2000)
Author: Chase Sargent
Average review score:

Not just another rope book.
This text is the perfect tool for those preparing to teach confined space rescue or develop a technical rescue team. The information is relevant, precise and real world. It points out the "why" rather than just "how" a team should be developed. I plan to use this text as required reading for students of the courses I teach. And will recommend that the Division Chiefs of my Dept. read it to help justify our rescue teams existence. Thanks Chase..

The Desert and the Sown: The Syrian Adventures of the Female Lawrence of Arabia
Published in Paperback by Cooper Square Press (December, 2001)
Authors: Gertrude Bell, John Singer Sargent, and Rosemary O'Brien
Average review score:

Marvelous Book
Having read a current bio about Gertrude Bell (Desert Queen), which I found a bear to get through due to the less than amazing quality of writing, I was curious about Bell's own writings and thrilled to find some still in print. Gertrude Bell could write!! What a wonderful book. Having an interest in archaeology and the history of ancient civilizations, I enjoyed the material she offered. But even if those aren't areas of interest to you, the people she met and talked to give one a better understanding of the midEast and of people in general. This was a hard book to put down. My only desires were that a map had been provided and that all of her wonderful pictures would have been printed on glossy paper so they could have been better appreciated. (I would have paid the extra!)
